If anything, the Eagles may be a bit shallow with linebacker depth if the injury report has been any indication this week.

    (CBS Connecticut) — The state Department of Public Health says a total of twenty-one flu-related deaths have been reported in Connecticut.
    Most of the deaths have been in people over the age of 65.

    CBS Local — A new report has revealed a possible life-saving benefit for women taking birth control pills. According to the researchers at the National Cancer Institute, oral contraceptives can reduce the chance of developing ovarian, breast, and other cancers in women.

    WESTPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio) – A West Haven man is under arrest in Westport after police say he was caught with fish stolen from a local grocery story.
    An officer observed a vehicle traveling slowly through the parking lots of different businesses on Post Road East Thursday, and pulled it over for not having a front license plate, said police.

    TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTIC and AP) – Officials for a Connecticut baseball team filing for bankruptcy say the team is unable to repay $38,000 in debts.
    The Republican-American reports a bankruptcy trustee for the Torrington Titans filed a motion Thursday requesting to use the money in its checking account to hire an accountant for its 2017 tax returns. The remaining balance would go to its creditors.

    STAMFORD, Conn. (WTIC and AP) – A judge has sentenced a New York City man to three years in jail for injuring multiple police officers during a fight outside a Connecticut concert.
    The Stamford Advocate reports 53-year-old Lamont Holloway was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to a felony count of assault on a police officer.
    Authorities say the fight happened around 5 p.m. July 6 at the Stamford Alive at Five concert.

    NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTIC and AP) – A submarine commander is praising the way his crew responded when a sailor intentionally shot himself aboard the Groton, Connecticut-based vessel.
    The USS North Dakota was about 170 miles from the base on Jan. 12 when the petty officer shot himself in the shoulder with a government-issued rifle.

    The Hartford Courant reports Caleb Tisdol’s name was made public Thursday after being charged as an adult in Hartford Superior Court. He faces first-degree robbery, larceny, threatening and conspiracy charges related to an Oct. 21 robbery in East Hartford.
