  • 1 man injured in Bridgeport shooting

    BRIDGEPORT — One man is in the hospital, after they were shot Friday night.
    Police said that a man limped to St. Vincent’s Medical Center with a non- life threatening gunshot wound.  Officials could not say where the victim was shot.
    Calls for shot fired came in after 9 p.m. around the area of Beechmont Avenue and Valley Avenue. Officers that responded to the call, found a crime scene at 300 block of Valley Avenue.
    The victim’s identity has not been released.

    HARTFORD — Court documents show Yale University alumni are helping pay the legal costs of a former basketball star who is fighting his expulsion for sexual misconduct.
    Jack Montague told attorneys in a court deposition that between $25,000 and $30,000 has been raised from alumni to help fund his lawsuit. He claims he was wrongly expelled in 2016. He is seeking monetary damages and to be readmitted to the Ivy League school.

  • Call Center Hours Extended At Access Health CT

    HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Connecticut’s health insurance marketplace is extending call center operating hours to help people sign up for health insurance before the shortened open enrollment period ends.
    The call center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, from Dec. 11 through Dec. 21.
    There will also be expanded weekend hours on Dec. 22, the enrollment deadline.

    (Shelton, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – In Shelton, police and fire officials are investigating a fatal fire from Friday night.
    Authorities say around 7:45 p.m., they responded to the blaze at 35 Hemlock Drive at the Fairchild trailer park in the city.
