    CENTENNIEL, Colorado (KDVR) -- A convicted child sex trafficker from Colorado was sentenced to 472 years in prison on Tuesday, the longest sentence for a human trafficking case in U.S. history.
    Brock Franklin, 31, was found guilty of 30 counts, including soliciting for child prostitution, sexual assault and kidnapping by an Arapahoe County jury in March.
    Franklin recruited young girls and women, and forced them into prostitution. There was physical abuse if they didn't cooperate.

    Police say a Volvo sedan hit a utility pole in Waterbury on Tuesday, knocking out power, before crashing into the home. No one inside the home was injured.

    WEST HARTFORD —  Macy’s credit card system appeared to struggle to process transactions nationwide on Black Friday, causing delays at brick-and-mortar stores and outages online.

    ENFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Officials say one person died in an early-morning house fire in northern Connecticut.
    Fire officials say five people were in the two-story home in Enfield when the blaze broke out shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday.

    PENNSYLVANIA —  The state of Pennsylvania has taken another step in protecting dogs from the cold weather.
    According to the Sacramento Bee, animal shelters in the state are warning dog owners about a new law aimed to protect dogs from the cold.
    In the new law, the Bee says owners can face charges for leaving dogs outside in freezing temperatures without proper shelter for more than 30 minutes, under Libre’s Law.

    HARTFORD — Connecticut’s prison population has fallen below 14,000 inmates to its lowest level since 1994.
    The state Department of Correction reported that it had 13,917 inmates as of Thursday.

    PHILADELPHIA — A fund set up to raise money for a homeless man who helped a woman when her car ran out of gas in Philadelphia has collected more than $280,000.
    The GoFundMe campaign was started by Bordentown, New Jersey, resident Kate McClure this month after she was stuck along Interstate 95 and Johnny Bobbitt Jr. bought her some gas with his last $20.
