    PLAINFIELD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Plainfield police arrested a man and a woman after officers raided an apartment on Norwich Road early Saturday.
    Police say they’d received complaints about drug dealing at the dwelling, and found 10 grams of heroin, 6 grams of crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, packaging materials and roughly $2,000 cash at the address. Three children were also located in the home, said police.

    ARKANSAS -- The cost of a Thanksgiving feast is the cheapest it has been since 2015, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation.
    The organization has surveyed the average cost of a Thanksgiving Day meal since 1986.

    BOSTON (CBS Connecticut and AP) – A class-action lawsuit accuses two utilities of conspiring to drive up energy costs in New England.
    An attorney says the lawsuit filed in Boston federal court accuses Eversource Energy and Avangrid Inc. of using their market power to “unlawfully jack up” consumer electric bills. The suit contends customers in New England were overcharged $3.6 billion.

    (AP) — Malcolm Young, the rhythm guitarist and guiding force behind the Australian hard rock band AC/DC, has died. He was 64.
    AC/DC announced the death on their official Facebook page and website Saturday. The posts did not say when or where Young died.
    Young was diagnosed with dementia in 2014. A statement says he died peacefully with his family by his side.
    Band representatives didn’t immediately return emails seeking comment. Young formed the group with his brother, Angus.

    SOUTHBURY – Part of I-84 remains closed due to a crash and fire earlier this morning.
    Connecticut State Police say two tractor-trailer trucks were involved in the accident which happened just before 5 a.m. Saturday between exits 16 and 17, One of the trucks caught fire, and all eastbound lanes and two out of three westbound lanes were closed for several hours. Luckily, only one minor injury was reported.

    Investigators say just before 1:00 a.m., a 2003 Dodge Dakota was traveling west on Route 171 approaching County Road.
    Troopers say the vehicle struck a tree and caught fire.
    The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

  • Crash Closes Highway

    (Southbury, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – There were big problems early this morning on a stretch of Interstate 84 in western Connecticut.
    State Police say multiple tractor trailers were involved in a crash on the eastbound side of the highway between exits 16 and 17 in Southbury.
    In addition, two lanes, were blocked on the westbound side at exits 17 and 16.
    Minor injuries were reported.
    There’s no word yet on what caused the crash.

    HARTFORD – Hartford HealthCare and Anthem insurance have finally reached an agreement.
    The three-year agreement was announced after 2 a.m. Saturday morning.  It will restore in-network access to Hartford HealthCare`s physicians, facilities, programs and services.
