    The Courant reports that 27-year-old Aaron Taylor pleaded guilty on Thursday to first-degree assault in connection with the non-fatal shooting in 2015 of theRev. Augustus Sealy, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Hartford.

  • Man Accused Of Torching Bantam Lake Lodge

    MORRIS, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – State police have arrested a Morris man on charges related to a fire that ripped through a vacant 117-yea-rold lodge on Bantam Lake last month.
    Daniel Hunchak, 23, was arrested Thursday in connection with the blaze, which occurred on the evening of October 28. He’s charged with first-degree arson and third-degree burglary. He was held on lieu of $100,000 bond pending arraignment Friday.
    There were no injuries reported in the fire.

    BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) – The girlfriend of a Connecticut man charged with killing his parents for threatening to cut him out of their will has pleadedguilty to related charges and agreed to serve eight years in prison.
    Jennifer Valiante pleaded guilty Friday in Bridgeport Superior Court to conspiracy to commit murder and hindering prosecution.
    The pleas came under the Alford doctrine, which allows defendants to not admit guilt but concede there’s enough evidence for a conviction.

    FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A woman whose profane truck sticker aimed at President Trump and his voters drew the attention of authorities, has been arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
