    DANBURY, Conn. (AP) _ A Connecticut man charged with sexually assaulting and fatally beating his 55-year-old female roommate in May has been ordered to undergo a competency evaluation.
    The News-Times reports 32-year-old Steven Flood’s attorney requested the evaluation in Danbury on Friday based on Flood’s medical records and also on conversations with Flood.

  • Hamden Police Investigate Friday Night Shooting

    Hamden, Ct.  (CBS Connecticut)  On October 6th at approximately 9:15p.m. Hamden Police responded to a shooting in the area of the 800 block of Dixwell Avenue.
    A preliminary investigation revealed that a 26 year-old Hamden resident was shot in the abdomen, while standing in a nearby parking lot. A verbal altercation preceded the shooting. Hamden Fire Rescue responded and rendered medical assistance. The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.

    Suffield, Ct.  (CBS Connecticut)  Suffield Police responded to a residence in town for a reports domestic disturbance around 4:30 Friday morning. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Kathleen Gadomski, age 49, of #35 Marguy Lane Suffield for Disorderly Conduct CGS 53-182. Gadomski was taken into custody, transported to police headquarters, and processed per department protocol.     STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man has pleaded guilty to charges related to the drug overdose death of his own son.
    The Stamford Advocate reports that 58-year-old Mark Lynch accepted a deal Friday that could result in him serving a three-year prison term. Lynch pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and sales of narcotics.
