    (Vernon, Conn.CBS Connecticut) – Police in Vernon are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in town.
    It was last night just before 10 o’clock when police, fire and EMS responded to the scene at Bolton Road in the area of Bread and Milk Road.
    The cycle operator, identified as 64-year-old Timothy Madigan of Vernon, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Massachusetts man who pleaded guilty to transporting two kilograms of cocaine to Connecticut has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.
    Roland Pino-Martinez, of Springfield, was also sentenced this week to three years’ probation in federal court in Hartford. Pino-Martinez had pleaded guilty in October conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut woman has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for her role in an identity theft scheme that netted her and an accomplice about $150,000 from 30 victims.
    Federal prosecutors say 43-year-old Lorena Coburn, of West Haven, was also sentenced Thursday to three years of probation and ordered to pay more than $50,000 in restitution. Coburn pleaded guilty in November to bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

    Police say the attack happened Thursday night on Patriot Lane.
