    KILLINGLY, Conn. (AP) _ A Connecticut girl has died after suffering a medical emergency during a Little League softball game.
    Lynne Pierson, the superintendent of schools in Killingly, said the seventh-grader at Killingly Intermediate School was playing in a game at Roseland Park in Woodstock on Tuesday, when the incident occurred.The child was taken to a local hospital, where she died.Pierson said she did not know the nature of the medical emergency.     70-year-old Torrington Man Charged With Murdering 79-year-old Wife
    (CBS Connecticut) — A 79-year-old Torrington Man was today charged with murdering his 79-year-old wife.
    Daniel Gervais called 911 on April 22, and told police that Phyllis Gervais had fallen and suffered a head injury.  She was found on the floor at the couple’s Cider Mill Crossing house.
    Police say the evidence at the scene was not consistent with a person falling.
    Investigators spent two days at the home seizing evidence and examining the scene.

    (CBS Connecticut) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials this afternoon delayed deportation by a month to a Derby man who could be sent back to Guatemala.
    Luis Barrios spoke outside his home after learning about his reprieve.
    “We tried to demonstrate we are a good family, good citizens over here,” Barrios said.
    Barrios is an undocumented sanitation worker and a married father of four children, who are all US citizens.

    (Windham, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – State Police say they’re investigating a  shooting in Windham.
    Troopers with the Troop K barracks and the Eastern District Major Crimes Division responded to Boston Post Road in North Windham shortly after 1  pm  Wednesday.

    (Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Water from some private wells in Connecticut has tested positive for high levels of Arsenic and Uranium.
    About 600 wells were tested by the U.S. Geological Survey, based on information from the state Department of Public Health.
    Joe Ayotte with the USGS is one of the study’s authors.  He says the most likely cause for the uptick in Arsenic and Uranium has to do with some 81 types of bedrock in the state.

    NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – Police in Connecticut say they arrested two teenagers after finding more than 100 marijuana cookies in their possession.
    Police say an officer had checked on two suspiciously parked vehicles in North Haven on Tuesday night and detected the smell of marijuana.
    They say a further investigation revealed that both teens had marijuana cookies.
    Police say officers seized a total of 138 marijuana cookies and more than $400 in cash.

    Police Investigate Fatal Shooting
    BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – Police in Bridgeport are investigating a shooting that left a man dead.
    Officials say the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on Read Street. Police say the man was found dead at the scene.
    Authorities have not identified the victim.

    Woman Charged In Attempted Greenwich Church Theft
    (Greenwich, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Greenwich Police say they’re charging a woman for attempting to steal money from a church.
    Officers on Tuesday arrested 19-year-old Victoria Rosenblum of Greenwich.
    According to police, Rosenblum entered St. Mary’s Church on Greenwich Avenue and attempted to make off with the collection offering safe.
    Investigators say Rosenblum was spotted on video surveillance April 30 apparently casing the premises after of the alleged attempted theft.
