    HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Organizers of a Hartford May Day rally say thousands of immigrants, top state officials and labor leaders are expected to gather at the state Capitol to call for an end to the Trump administration’s deportation policy and an increase in the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

    LOS ANGELES (AP) – Former U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd is stepping down as chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America.
    The MPAA said Friday that their board will gather Saturday to name Charles Rivkin as successor to Dodd, who is resigning Sept. 4.
    Rivkin was previously the U.S. assistant secretary of state for economic and business affairs and a U.S. ambassador to France and Monaco.

    1 Dead, 1 Injured In Danbury Crash
    (Danbury, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – State Police are investigating a wrong way crash in Danbury Friday night that left one person dead.
    Just before 11:00 p.m., troopers began receiving reports of a vehicle traveling east in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near exit 3.
    The wrong way vehicle struck the front of another vehicle, leaving 34-year-old Julio Mafort of Danbury with serious injuries.  He’s being treated in Danbury Hospital.
