• Man Shot In Neck When Gunman Opens Fire At Barbershop

  STAMFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – Stamford police say a man was critically injured when a gunman opened fire at a city barbershop.
  Authorities responded to the Two Brothers Barber Shop at around 1 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses said the victim was inside the barbershop when a suspect fired several shots through a window.
  Officials say the man is in critical condition at Yale New Haven Hospital. His name hasn’t been released.

• Overhaul Planned For Gold Star Bridge

  NEW LONDON, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – A $30 million overhaul of the Gold Star Memorial Bridge on Interstate 95 between New London and Groton is set to begin later this month.
  The Day newspaper reports that construction crews are scheduled to begin renovations to the southbound bridge on April 17. The project is slated to be finished by the fall of 2018.
  A more extensive, $200 million improvement project to the northbound bridge is expected to begin in the spring of 2018.

• Newtown Man Dies In Freak Accident

  NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – Police in Connecticut say a 19-year-old man has died after being run over by his own car.
  Newtown police say the man was working under the jacked up vehicle at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday when it came off the jack and rolled over him.
  The vehicle then continued to roll down the driveway across the street before coming to a rest on a neighbor’s property.
  The victim’s name was not immediately released.
