• Hartford Man Sentenced In Two Drug Overdoses

  HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A Hartford man linked to two people’s overdoses on fentanyl has been sentenced to four years for in prison for distributing drugs.Forty-one-year-old Josemanuel Rios pleaded guilty in November conspiracy to distribute heroin and fentanyl.
  Federal prosecutors say he was sentenced Friday in New Haven to the prison term and three years of supervised release.

  MONTVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Officials have released the names of two Montville police officers under investigation after a man was fatally shot by police outside a motel in January.
  Authorities say police asked 53-year-old Val Thomas to leave, but the suspect grabbed an officer’s stun gun and used it to repeatedly strike the officer in the head. The officer then shot Thomas. He died at a hospital.
