    Revelers Flock To St. Patrick’s Day Parades Despite The Cold
    HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – Frigid temperatures didn’t stop thousands of revelers from celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at parades in southern New England.
    The Central Connecticut Celtic Cultural Committee’s 46th annual parade was held as scheduled in Hartford Saturday morning despite temperatures that only reached into the low 20s.
    The Hartford Courant reports that while attendance at the parade was lower than usual, revelers were enthusiastic.

    ANSONIA, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Ansonia firefighters are hoping to get some rest after battling three fires in the span of roughly 15 hours.
    The latest blaze broke out Saturday afternoon at the vacant Farrel industrial complex on Main Street, where a blaze started in the roof of one of the buildings. Authorities believe the fire may have been sparked by an electrical problem caused by the wind. Power had to be cut to the entire complex before crews could extinguish the flames.

    HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – A veteran assistant attorney general has been named Connecticut’s new solicitor general.
    Attorney General George Jepsen announced that Jane Rosenberg will take on the new job.
