  BRIDGEPORT–Police have made an arrest in a homicide from earlier this year.
  On Wednesday evening, around 5:30 p.m., Bridgeport Police tried to pull over a Toyota Corolla on Park Avenue, near the intersection with Benham Avenue after the car ran a stop sign. The driver pulled over for a moment, and then sped off.

  HARTFORD–A man has been arrested after an altercation at Hartford’s City Hall on Thursday.
  Anthony Halloway, 55, of Hartford, arrived at City Hall and was allegedly disruptive and made a statement implying he wanted to kill Mayor Pedro Segarra.
  He was arrested without incident and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.
  City officials say they don’t believe Halloway is a city employee, so it’s not clear if he has any connection the mayor.

  COLUMBIA, S.C. — An official says a friend of the white man who shot nine black churchgoers to death has been arrested.
  The official close to the investigation spoke on condition of anonymity Thursday because they were not authorized to talk publicly about the case.
  It’s not immediately clear what charges 21-year-old Joey Meek faces. Authorities notified Meek last month they had begun investigating him for lying to investigators and failing to report a crime.

  NEW HAVEN - It has been a long-standing traffic problem for New Haven.
  The south side of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge, crossing over the Quinnipiac River, is just about ready to receive a whole lot of traffic.
  The bridge will have five lanes in each direction with full shoulders, three thru lanes and operational lanes for entrance ramps.
  It is a big step up and a big step away from the caution signs that currently light up the bridge.

  Bristol Police say Anthony Cammariere, who owns and manages multiple properties in the city, used information from a tenant application to open an account with T-Mobile.

  WETHERSFIELD — Connecticut labor officials say employers added 3,200 jobs in August, the fourth straight monthly jobs increase. The unemployment rate fell slightly to 5.3 percent, from 5.4 percent in July.
  The unemployment rate is the lowest since May 2008. The U.S. jobless rate was 5.1 percent in August.

  The state Department of Labor says the unemployment rate dropped to 5.3%.
  That figure is down  one-tenth of a percentage point from July and a full percentage point from the same time a year ago.
  The figures bring the number of jobs in the state to a seasonally adjusted level just under 1.7 million.
