• Judge drops rape charges against Columbus firefighter

  A Delaware County judge dismissed charges against a Columbus firefighter accused of having sex with a young girl 10 years ago, but the prosecutor's office may re-file them. Timothy Durbin, 51, of Columbus' Northeast Side, was indicted in April on three counts of rape, three counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of kidnapping for incidents the now-17-year-old woman said occurred between July 1, 2003, and July 31, 2004.

• Sharon police investigating shooting at hospital
