  CLEVELAND, Ohio– Cleveland police said an officer was arrested following an internal affairs investigation. Valarie Thompson, 50, is accused of obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence; those are both felony offenses. Police said the arrest is in connection with an incident that allegedly happened while Thompson was off-duty, in secondary employment. Thompson was hired in 1994 and was most recently assigned to the property unit. She has been suspended from duty, without pay.
