    THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA) – A young bobcat who survived the Woolsey Fire recently gave birth to a litter of four kittens in Westlake Village.

    RIVERSIDE (CBSLA/AP) – A Perris couple has been sentenced to life in prison for severe abuse and neglect of 12 of their children.
    David Allen Turpin, 57, and Louise Ann Turpin, 50, each pleaded guilty in February to six counts of cruelty to a dependent adult, four counts offalse imprisonment, three counts of child abuse and one count of torture.
    In a court appearance Friday, two of the false imprisonment charges were amended to false imprisonment of a dependent adult.

    SUN VALLEY (CBSLA)  —  A bicyclist was killed Thursday evening in Sun Valley by an alleged hit-and-run driver.
    Witnesses told KCAL9’s Tom Wait that the driver of a red car — possibly a sedan — hit the bicyclist and kept on going.

    FULLERTON (CBSLA)  —  A small, twin-engine plane crashed Thursday evening at Fullerton Airport.
    The six-seat Beechcraft Duke burst into flames just after takeoff.
    Officials said the pilot — a resident of Utah — was killed. There were no passengers.

    PASADENA (CBSLA) – Authorities Thursday were investigating a mountain lion sighting in a Pasadena residential area.
    A homeowner called Pasadena police around 4:30 p.m.. to report the animal on the 1600 block of N. Lake Avenue near Washington Blvd., according to Pasadena Fire spokeswoman Lisa Dederian.
    The mountain lion was believed to be as large as 80 to 100 pounds, Dederian said.

  • Former Teacher, 47, Pleads No Contest To Unlawful Sex Charges With Male Student, 17

    BRENTWOOD (CBSLA)  —  A former Brentwood School teacher pleaded no contest Thursday for having unlawful sex with a student in 2017.
    Dr. Aimee Palmitessa, 47, entered her plea to three felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse. She was immediately sentenced to three years in state prison to be served in local custody.

    SANTA ANA (CBSLA) — Ring doorbell video caught a Santa Ana intruder trying to break into a house before committing a home invasion robbery at a nearby home.
    Police say the suspect with the long sideburns and shirt tied around his waist attacked a woman who was asleep on the couch in her home on Riviera Drive. He demanded keys and then took off in her truck.

    GLENDALE (CBSLA) – Three men were found shot to death inside a home in a Glendale neighborhood overnight Wednesday.
    At 12:17 a.m. Thursday, Glendale police responded to 911 calls from neighbors about shots fired in the 1300 block of Columbia Drive, a narrow hillside road. They arrived to find an open garage door at the home and entered to find three men dead inside. One man was found dead in the garage and the other two were inside the home itself.
