    LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Recipients of CalFresh and CalWorks, who access those benefits using debit cards, are being urged to prepare for a 24-hour service disruption that will prevent them from using those services starting Saturday evening.
    The cards, known as Electronic Benefits Transfer — or EBT — will stop working as of 11 p.m. Saturday evening and remain unusable until 11 p.m. Sunday due to a planned statewide service outage.

    INGLEWOOD (CBSLA) – A suspect armed with what turned out to be a BB gun was shot and killed by officers late Friday night outside Inglewood police headquarters.

  • Santa Ana Teen Killed In Shooting At Outdoor Street Party

    SANTA ANA (CBSLA) – an 18-year-old Santa Ana man was  killed overnight Friday when shots range out in the parking lot of an industrial park during a crowded outdoor party.
    The victim, identified as Robert Silva, was shot in the 1700 block of Newport Circle at about 1:14 a.m. during a street party with a large group of young people, Santa Ana police report. Partygoers rushed Silva to the hospital before officers arrived on scene.

  • Voters May See Daylight Saving Measure On November Ballot

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California voters may get to decide in November whether to take the first step toward keeping the state on daylight saving time year round.
    Lawmakers on Thursday voted to place a measure on the November ballot asking voters to give them authority to move toward changing the state’s daylight saving policy. It passed the Assembly 63-4 after winning approval in the Senate.
