(WIVB) -- Former Congressman John LaFalce has died at the age of 85, Erie County Democratic Party Chairman Jeremy Zellner confirmed.A Buffalo native, LaFalce was elected to Congress in 1974 and represented Western New York from 1975-2003. LaFalce represented the 36th Congressional District from 1975-83, the 32nd Congressional District from 1983-93, and the 29th Congressional District from 1993-2003.

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- According to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, a correction officer at Groveland Correctional Facility died in state housing. The officer was 53-year-old David Hilburger from Angola.According to DOCCS, Hilburger had his two regular days off on Monday, April 7 and Tuesday, April 8. (WIVB) -- Buffalo residents against the state's Kensington Expressway Project continued to make their voices heard on Saturday at the East Side Parkways Coalition's second community meeting to address the environmental, economic and health impacts of the proposed project.The project sought the reconnection of neighborhoods on Buffalo's East Side and placing a park on a .75-mile section of Route 33.
