    Buffalo man sentenced for murder of girlfriend
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Buffalo man was sentenced Monday morning for murdering his girlfriend in her apartment last summer, the Erie County District Attorney's Office announced.
    Savon Stewart, 30, received 25 years to life in prison for fatally beating and stabbing 37-year-old Jena MacDiarmid Beal.
    On Aug. 7, 2023, police responded to a 911 call and found Beal deceased inside her apartment on the 3400 block of Main Street. Stewart had intentionally caused her death by beating and stabbing her.
