    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- The Buffalo Fire Department responded to a call for a fire at the MLK Jr. Park in Buffalo Saturday evening, officials say.
    Fire officials say the fire started in the MLK bathroom building on the first floor. They responded to the call just before 6:40 p.m. to the 1100 block of Fillmore.

    Route 5 crash leads to death of child
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A crash on Route 5 in Hamburg took the life of a child Saturday night, according to the Hamburg Police Department.
    The accident was at Route 5 and North Creek Road at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday night. Two cars were involved and one child died, while several other people were injured, police say.     Angola man charged in connection to Route 5 crash that led to death of child
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- An Angola man was charged in connection to a crash on Route 5 in Hamburg that took the life of a child Saturday night, according to the Hamburg Police Department.
    Police say the accident occurred around 8:10 p.m. Saturday night at Route 5 and North Creek Road. 35-year-old Heather Van Elk of Blasdell had stopped to turn left onto North Creek Road when her vehicle was hit from behind by a truck driven by 52-year-old Markus Genovese of Angola, according to police.
