• Two sought in attempted larceny from Lockport grocery store

    LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help to identify two individuals believed to be involved in an attempted larceny from Save-a-Lot on South Transit Road.
    The attempted larceny occurred Nov. 24.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- One day before Thanksgiving, 43-year-old Rosemary Billquist of the Town of Sherman was shot and killed when a neighbor mistook her for a deer.
    Billquist was shot once in the hip, and died at an Erie, Pennsylvania hospital.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Suspended Buffalo Police officer Joseph Hassett has been indicted on charges related to an alleged March incident in which he caused injury to an individual in his custody at the Buffalo Police Department.
    Hassett, 32, has been indicted on two counts of third degree assault, official misconduct, second degree offering a false instrument for filing, and making a punishable false written statement.

    The epicenter of the earthquake was over 22 miles north-northwest of Erie, Pennsylvania and 37.5 miles north-northeast of Conneaut, Ohio.

    (CBS NEWS) – In what health officials call an “encouraging sign,” a new government report finds HIV is being diagnosed sooner after infection than it was just a few years ago.

  • New USS Little Rock to arrive in Buffalo Monday

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The new USS Little Rock will be arriving in Buffalo a little early- around 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4.
    The ship was originally scheduled to arrive at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval Park Dec. 8.
    It will be the first time in the U.S. Navy’s 242-year history that one of its ships will be commissioned in view of the decommissioned ship for which it was named. The ship will be commissioned Dec. 16.
