    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A family from Puerto Rico is spending their first Thanksgiving in Buffalo.
    Maria Robles moved to Buffalo with her husband and her two kids in early November.
    They lost everything when Hurricane Maria ripped through their city.
    “When the storm passed I came back to my house to see how it was and everything and it was full of water, everything got damaged, I lost everything,” said Robles.

  • Results from 2017 Turkey Trot

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – About 14,000 people turned out for the 122nd annual YMCA Turkey Trot.
    The Turkey Trot is an eight kilometer race through Buffalo.
    Chad Maloy, 24, of Boston took the top overall male ranking, with a time of 24:25. Maloy also won the 2016 Turkey Trot.
    Top overall female was Jenny Delsignore, 22, of Tonawanda, with a time of 28:18.

    NEW YORK — The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade marched, rolled and soared in traditional style Thursday as police went all-out to secure it in a year marked by attacks on outdoor gathering spots.

  • Two hurt in three-vehicle Clarence crash

    CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two people were taken to ECMC Thursday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash at Harris Hill Road and Greiner Road.
    The crash happened just before noon. One of the vehicles rolled over.A third person in the crash was uninjured.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Turkey Trot is an annual tradition here in Buffalo that brings out thousands of people each year. This year 14,000 people are running or walking to the finish.
    “Nothing compares to coming out at 9 o’clock in the morning in freezing weather so even though you prepare it’s hard but it’s also a lot of fun because you’re doing it with a lot of of people,” said Katie Cageao of Buffalo.

  • Overnight fire damages East Side home

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Investigators want to know what caused a fire that damaged a home early Thanksgiving morning.
    Crews responded to the home on Davidson Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
    It’s unclear whether anyone was inside when the fire started. News 4 is also working to learn more about the extent of the damage.

  • Buffalo Police investigating Thanksgiving morning shooting

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo Police have confirmed one man was shot Thursday morning on Buffalo’s east side.
    The shooting happened on the 1200 block of Fillmore Avenue. The victim was transported to ECMC.
    Police have not released information about the man’s identity or his current condition.

    ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB)- Patients are asking ‘what now?’ after an Orchard Park doctor is arrested. Dr. Paul Biddle is accused of getting drugs through fraud and identity theft.
    The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced the charges on Tuesday.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – City leaders came together Wednesday to announce the sixth season of the popular “Game Changers” youth program.
    The free, six-week program gives kids a safe and fun way to spend the weekends in the city.

  • Two Good Samaritans help save man from burning home in Mayville

    MAYVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two men recently helped save the life of a 67-year-old man who was caught in a house fire in Mayville.
    The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a call Sunday night reporting heaving smoke from a residence on Morris Road. The caller, Shaun Dimino, a Town of Lancaster police officer, owns a hunting cabin in the area and was traveling on Morris Road.
