    (CNN) – After breaking up almost two decades ago, Panera and Au Bon Pain are getting back together.
    On Wednesday, Panera announced that it’s repurchasing the café chain it sold back in 1999. The terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.

  • Cheektowaga woman pleads guilty to fatal Gold St. shooting

    CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Cheektowaga resident who fatally shot a woman in Buffalo on New Year’s Day has pleaded ‘guilty.’
    Nadiyah Whitaker, 32, killed Sloan resident Shanna Mason, 30, on Gold St. She was charged with First-Degree Manslaughter.
    When Whitaker is sentenced on December 11, she faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
  • Police: Multiple thefts from vehicles at Williamsville fitness center

    WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Amherst police say a number of vehicles at a Williamsville fitness center were broken into on Tuesday.
    Many items, including purses, wallets, credit cards and IDs were stolen.
    Although some vehicles were locked, police say their windows had been broken out.
    Authorities say the incidents happened between 5 and 6:30 p.m.
    Police are reminding drivers to hide their belongings from plain sight, lock their vehicles and take their keys with them.

  • Buffalo woman charged with killing mother in 2005

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo woman has been charged with murdering her mother more than 12 years ago.
    Prosecutors say Lashawn Lewis, 40, stabbed Lateyfa Lewis, 50, throughout her body more than 40 times in August of 2005.
    According to officials, this happened at the victim’s Orange St. home.
    Lewis was indicted on a charge of Second-Degree Murder.

    BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — A former Virginia news anchor whose journalist girlfriend was fatally shot during a live broadcast in 2015 has defeated a Republican incumbent for a seat in the House of Delegates.

    CANBERRA, Australia (NEWS10) – In an effort to fight “revenge porn”, Facebook and the Australian government are teaming up in a controversial way to prevent the images from being posted on social media.
    According to Australia’s eSafety Commission, if you’re concerned that your intimate photos may end up on Instagram or Facebook, you will be asked to send your own nude photos to yourself in a Facebook message.

    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police in Amherst are investigating a suspicious incident they say happened in the Robin Rd. area.
    Around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police say a 15-year-old boy was approached by a man in his 50s while on a walking path.
    Police say the man offered the boy beer. The boy told police that the man had inappropriate material displayed on his cell phone.
    The man was described as Middle Eastern, 5’7″ and 155 lbs.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Acting U.S. Attorney James Kennedy announced Wednesday that a 166-count indictment against Dr. Eugene Gosy, 56, was returned by a federal grand jury. The new indictment supersedes an indictment handed up in April 2016, adding charges of distributing and dispensing controlled substances, other than for legitimate medical purposes, resulting the death of six patients.

    WELLSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three Allegany County teenagers have been charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide.
    They are:
    Robert Murray, 19, of Wellsville
    Andrew Elliott, 19, of Andover
    Spencer Carl, 17, of Wellsville
    According to New York State Police, those three, along with former Andover resident Gregory Dunne, 18, drove to the Rochester area to buy heroin last month.

    (AP) – Voters have approved a change to the state’s constitution allowing judges to strip the pensions of any official convicted of corruption.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Someone burglarized Deep South Taco’s Ellicott Street location early Monday morning, Buffalo Police confirmed.
