    ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB)- An inmate at the Alden Correctional Facility died of a heart attack.
    The Erie County Sheriff’s Office has reported that David Stitt, 63 of Hamburg, exited his cell and collapsed in the common area of the housing unit Sunday morning.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- A marked Buffalo police vehicle was responding to a call with lights on and traveling east on Seneca Street when it was struck by a car traveling northbound on Bailey Avenue Saturday evening.
    The police Tahoe spun around and landed on top of a BMW. The BMW was then pushed into another vehicle also waiting at the light.

    A Niagara County lawmaker wants to put a stop to daylight saving time for good. Assemblyman Angelo Morinello has submitted a bill to get ride of daylight saving time.

  • Matt Myers, WSW claim first sectional title with 27-24 win over South Park

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Trailing 18-6 in the second half, West Seneca West senior quarterback Matt Myers took over.
    The UB commit ran for a score and threw for another as the Indians rallied for a 27-24 to defeat South Park and claim the program’s first sectional title, winning the Class A Championship.

  • Buffalo teacher helps students from Puerto Rico stay warm this winter

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- The Buffalo community is donating warm clothing to help students from Puerto Rico.
    Kim Meissner is a teacher at School 76 and held a winter coat drive for the school. She asked the community for donations on Facebook and told News 4 there was an outpouring of support.
