    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – For the second straight year, Cleveland Hill is the “King of Class C” in Western New York.
    Highlighted by a 99-yard TD run, the Golden Eagles ran their way to a 42-16 win to secure the program’s second Section VI title in as many years.
    Southwestern struck first as Cole Snyder connected with Derek Miller to give the Trojans an early 7-0 lead.

    BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — A man has been arrested and charged with assaulting and injuring U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky.Kentucky State Police said in a news release Saturday that Paul suffered a minor injury when 59-year-old Rene Boucher assaulted him at his Warren County home on Friday afternoon.

  • Firefighters find man dead in Batavia motel room

    BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB)- The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal fire that occurred at the Sunset Motel on West Main Street.
    Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly once they made entry to the room Saturday morning.
    The sole occupant of the room, 66-year-old Lance Dery, was pronounced dead at the scene.
    Officials say that the preliminary investigation indicates that Dery was smoking in his bed, which ignited the blankets and mattress.

  • Buffalo police make arrest in connection to July 2015 homicide

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo police announced on Saturday that an arrest had been made in connection to a 2015 homicide.
    The shooting killed 21-year-old Daquan Griggs at an outdoor party on July 5, 2015 in the 100 block of Montana Avenue.
    27-year-old Cornelius Jones of Buffalo was charged with murder in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon.
