    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – After missing four straight games, Tyree Jackson returned to action and threw for a career-high 313 yards, but it wasn’t enough in a 21-20 loss to Akron on Saturday.
    The Bulls, who have now lost four straight games, drop to 3-6 on the season and 1-4 in the Mid-American Conference.  UB will now need to win the final three games of the regular season to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2008.

    NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB)- Niagara Falls police are investigating a fatal shooting on 19th Street that occurred around 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

  • Arrest made following strangulation death in vacant Buffalo building

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo police have arrested an individual in connection with a homicide that occurred Monday morning on West Avenue.
    Detectives say 46-year-old Preston German of Buffalo was found deceased inside of a vacant structure just before 10 a.m.
    37-year-old Peter Isaacs of no permanent address was charged with murder in the 2nd degree in connection with the strangulation death German.

  • Mother mourns loss of teenage daughter after ATV accident

    CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Cheektowaga mother is grieving the loss of her daughter. 14-year-old Mikaela Gwitt died Thursday after she was badly injured in an ATV accident last weekend in Clarence. Charges are possible in the crash, but it’s still not clear what caused it.

  • CNN: First charges filed in Mueller investigation

    WASHINGTON (CNN) — A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter.
    The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge. Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said. It is unclear what the charges are.
