• Amber Alert issued for 3-month-old abducted near Albany

    TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – An Amber Alert has been issued for a child abduction near Spring Avenue Friday morning in Troy.
    The incident happened at around 11:30 a.m.
    The child, Donavan Bragg, is a 3-month-old boy with blue eyes. He is approximately 2′ long and weighs about 15 pounds.

    ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVB) – The annual “Fall for Erie County Parks” photo contest kicks off Saturday, encouraging county residents to capture the beauty of Erie County’s public parks in their fall foliage.

    CONNEAUT, Ohio (WIVB) — The U.S. Marshals Service is looking for a fugitive they say raped and killed 13-month-old Sereniti Sutley.
    Joshua Gurto, 37, is wanted by the Conneaut Police Department in northern Ohio. He was last seen in Girard, Pennsylvania.

    SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (WIVB) — The time children spend on digital devices is shifting.
    New research from non-profit group Common Sense finds kids who are eight years old and younger now spend about 48 minutes per day on mobile devices.
    That’s up from just five minutes per day in 2011.
    Overall screen time, including TV, has not changed much, coming in at an average of two hours and 19 minutes per day.

    DETROIT (AP) — General Motors Co. has reached a $120 million settlement with 49 states and the District of Columbia over its defective ignition switches.
    GM recalled 2.6 million small cars worldwide in 2014 because their ignition switches could slip from the “run” position to the “off” position, shutting off the engine.
    The switches played a role in at least 124 deaths and 275 injuries, according to a victims’ fund set up by GM.

    THE NETHERLANDS (WIVB) — A Dutch start-up called Crowded Cities hopes to teach crows to pick up cigarette butts.
    The birds are known to be highly intelligent, even able to make their own tools.
    The “crow-bar” device includes a large funnel for the butts, along with a food dispenser.
    A four-step process would reward the birds with food for each butt dropped in the funnel.
