    MAYVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – A rabid stray/feral cat attacked two Stockton residents last Thursday, the first instance of a rabid animal in Chautauqua County in 2017.

    TOWN OF ORANGEVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Warsaw man was arrested following a two-vehicle collision in the Town of Orangeville.
    According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s office, Joseph Plotz, 57, was headed south on State Route 238 when he stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Route 20A.

  • Buffalo area ranks higher than average for adults, 25 and older, with four-year degrees

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — New data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that the Buffalo area is higher than average when it comes to how many four-year college graduates, 25 or older, live here.
    A report by Buffalo Business First ranked the United States’ 100 biggest metropolitan areas, and Buffalo came in at number 53.
    The data was based on adults who are at least 25 years old.

    Police requested assistance from the Erie County Bomb Squad after receiving the report.

  • Tractor-trailer gets stuck under bridge in Buffalo

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo police say a tractor-trailer got stuck under a bridge at Fillmore Ave. and Howard St. on Monday morning.
    Police were at the scene and traffic was redirected.

    NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Parents in North Tonawanda could end up behind bars if their child is found bullying others. The North Tonawanda Common Council hopes the new law will help end bullying by holding parents accountable for their children’s actions.
