    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo police are investigating a shooting on the city’s east side.
    Police were called to the 100 block of Victoria Avenue around 1:15 p.m. Sunday.
    Detectives say a man in his late 20’s was shot in an apparent drive-by shooting.
    Police say the man was taken to ECMC with injuries that appear serious in nature.

  • First ever Run 716 15K race draws more than 1,000 runners

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Larkinville saw big crowds Sunday morning as dedicated athletes came together for the inaugural Run 716 15K race and relays. More than a thousand runners took part.
    “Usually you get 300 to 500 runners your first race. A thousand runners is great!” said Art Wingerter, President of Univera Healthcare, the community sponsor for Run 716.

  • Pedestrian Injured in Hit & Run in Buffalo

     
    BUFFALO, NY (WIVB)- Buffalo police are investigating yet another hit & run in the Queen City.  A pedestrian was struck while crossing Broadway at Lathrop around 11 a.m. Sunday, August 6.
    The victim, whose name and age have not been released, was taken to ECMC.  His condition is not known at this time.
    A vehicle with front end damage was stopped by police a short time later.

  • Man injured in hit-and-run at Broadway & Lathrop

    BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — Buffalo police are investigating a possible hit-and-run in the city. It happened in the area of Broadway and Lathrop around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
    Accident investigators on the scene say a dark, possibly black vehicle was involved in the crash.
    Police say a man was taken to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.
    Police are trying to find out if this hit-and-run is domestic in nature.

  • Loaded Semi-Automatic Handgun Found at Buffalo Airport

     
    BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – A Batavia man was cited after a loaded semi-automatic handgun was found in his carry-on at a checkpoint at the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport. 
    The TSA says an officer spotted the .380 caliber handgun in the bag via the checkpoint x-ray machine. The gun was loaded with seven bullets, including one in the chamber.
    NFTA Police confiscated the firearm and cited the man on local weapons charges. There was no impact to airport operations.

    Buffalo, NY (WIVB) An Allegany County man is facing possible charges after allegedly crashing his pickup truck into a house.
    The accident happened around  2:32 am on August 5 at 323 Evans Street in the Village of Richburg, Allegany County.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) —  The Guardian Angels are making a comeback in the Queen City. This time, they are working to clean up the streets of South Buffalo.
    The citizen-driven, anti-crime group is based out of New York City,  but has chapters around the world.
    The group started recruiting local members and patrolling near Cazenovia Park Saturday.
