    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — For the first time, The Wilkeson Pointe at the Outer Harbor is throwing a two-day celebration for the 4th of July.
    It officially kicked off Monday afternoon and runs through Tuesday evening.
    It’s a mini carnival for the entire family. There will be rides, games, water sport and bike rentals, a beer garden and lots of food. Visitors can also check out street performers, jugglers, face painting and balloon art.

    Child found unresponsive in car on Virgil Avenue
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A child was found unresponsive in a parked car on Virgil Avenue Monday afternoon.
    Sources say a passerby saw the 4-year-old boy in the vehicle and called police. The parents of the child showed up when the police did.
    Emergency responders were able to get the boy out of the vehicle, at which point the child was still unresponsive.
    The child was treated at the scene by ADI and will be okay.

    TOWN OF COLDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) — The victim in Sunday night’s fatal ATV accident has been identified.
    Joseph Ernst, 35, of Depew, was killed Sunday evening.
    People on South Hill Rd. in Colden called 911 around 8:40 p.m. after hearing a loud crash and finding an injured Ernst in a ditch.
    Members of the Sheriff’s office, as well as volunteer fire personnel, went to the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.

    GEORGETOWN, MA (CBS) – A police officer in Georgetown faced an unexpected task while on patrol Thursday morning – corralling a 1,000-pound pig.
    Officer Henry Olshefsky responded to a report of a loose pig in a yard on Birch Tree Drive.
    It turns out the pig was not too hard to spot, thanks to its massive size.
    Olshefsky found the pig in the driveway of a home on Long Hill Road.
    Police say the pig “appeared friendly, and was hanging out by a Frisbee, ready to play.”

    ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A state audit has found more problems including “squalid” conditions at some hotels and motels used to house homeless people in New York.
    The report issued by state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli on Tuesday. The audit is a follow up to a 2016 report that found problems at several hotels and motels used as shelters around the state.
