    Animal cruelty law has governor’s signature, dog’s paw print
    HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf and a Boston terrier found emaciated and diseased at an animal breeding operation have signed legislation strengthening laws against animal cruelty and neglect.
    The Democratic governor signed the bill with a pen before a crowd on the state Capitol lawn Wednesday before helping dip Libre’s paw in ink and stamping it on the bill. Libre was a puppy when he was found last year in Lancaster County.

    LONDON (AP) — It was a last-minute Christmas gift for his wife that inspired Michael Bond to create Paddington bear, the marmalade-loving teddy in a duffel coat and floppy hat.
    Bond would go on to see his creation enchant children for more than half a century and become an icon immortalized in print, on screens and as countless stuffed toys before his death at age 91.

    COLLINS, N.Y. (WIVB) — Members of the Erie County Sheriff’s office say they found crack and Suboxone after pulling over a man in the Town of Collins.
    Robert Mingle, 47, of Gowanda, was pulled over by Sheriff’s deputies for alleged traffic violations, when the officers say they noticed Suboxone on the center console. A search of the car then turned up crack paraphernalia, the Sheriff’s office says.

    NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State Park Police do not think that Kirk Jones’ recent death in Niagara Falls was a suicide.
    Jones was known for making national headlines back in 2003 when he plunged over Niagara Falls without any protection, only wearing his clothes.

    The creators would like for the hyperlanes to run along existing highways.
