    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo man will face more than six years in jail on heroin charges.
    Jeffrey Coleman, 47, was sentenced to 78 months in prison after being convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin.
    According to the assistant U.S. Attorney who handled the case, Coleman was a courier for a heroin distribution conspiracy, which brought heroin from New York City to Buffalo.

    The movie, which is about the early career of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, will be in theaters on October 13.
    Marshall stars Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad and Kate Hudson and was directed by Reginald Hudlin.

    CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 17-year-old was charged with trying to kill a man in Cheektowaga early Thursday morning.
    Police responded to an address on Atwood Pl. around 12:40 a.m. after a report of shots fired.
    When they got there, police saw a 20-year-old man, who had been shot, on the porch of the residence.
    Roquan Williams was found after officers searched the area. He was charged with Attempted Murder and Assault, and was taken into custody on $100,000.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Cheektowaga woman will spend the next five years on probation for stealing tens of thousands of dollars for a woman for whom she was supposed to be caring.
    Former home health aide Mary Talbot admitted to taking $41,590 from an 82-year-old West Seneca woman over a period between January 2015 and May 2016. She took the victim’s checks and made them out to herself.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A West Seneca woman who illegally collected more than $290,000 from the Buffalo Firemen’s Pension Fund over a 33-year period will not have to serve jail time for her crime.
    Pearlann MacVittie, 74, was sentenced to five years probation when she appeared in front of Hon. Kenneth Case in an Erie County Courtroom Thursday morning.

    LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police in Lancaster are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened overnight.

    The Albany Times-Union reports the SUNY Board of Trustees voted yesterday to raise tuition by $200 starting this fall.
    Trustees say the hike is making up for funds lost due to the tuition free program.

    Last Fall, Buffalo Billionaire Jeffrey Gundlach made a historic donation of $42.5 million to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. The money helped the gallery raise $125 million for the restoration and expansion project called AK360.
    Wednesday night, art officials and the architect unveiled where the expansion project will be built.
    The museum will be expanding by about 50,000 square feet.
