    NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – The American Diabetes Association put on the Tour de cure today. It was the 26th time that the event was held in Western New York. One special little girl was there today to share her story.
    Cecilia Loiacano is a ten year old who has been impacted by diabetes her whole life. She told News 4, “I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was one. I can’t remember my life without diabetes.”

    No one was injured.

    Man charged after shots fired in Niagara Falls junk yard
    NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say one man is in custody for discharging a firearm in the Town of Niagara junk yard, at Hyde Park and Delaware.
    A victim, the owner of the junk yard, said that the suspect had been in the yard and when the owner confronted him, the suspect pointed a rifle at him and shot at him.
    Police say no one was hurt.
    Police are waiting to hear from their criminal investigations bureau to see if any charges will be filed.

    Fire breaks out in Liberty Cab garage
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Fire broke out in a Liberty Cab garage around 4 p.m. Friday.
    The fire started in a storage area and spread to the roof.
    Damage is estimated at $200,000 in damage to the building and $75,000 to it’s contents.
    One firefighter suffered a minor injury- he’s been treated and released and is back on duty.
    The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is urging New Yorkers to watch out for fake traffic ticket emails that can lead to identity theft or fraud.
    DMV officials said it is a classic “phishing” scam, an email directing the recipient to attachments–clicking on any of those attachments will download malware onto your computer, or demand immediate payment, while threatening to revoke your drivers license.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – May, 2017, will go down as one of the wettest on record in Western New York, but last Wednesday night was especially brutal to the Cazenovia Neighborhood Library.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The 41st annual Buffalo Greek Festival is officially underway. It is the traditional kick off for the festival season in Western New York.

    Bicyclist killed in Amherst accident
    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – A male bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle on North French Road Friday afternoon.
    According to Amherst Police, the bicyclist was riding in the 4000 block of North French Road when he was struck by a 2014 Honda driven by a female driver from Amherst.
    The cyclist sustained multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
    The identification of those involved is being withheld pending the notification of the family.

    Local attorney, activist arrested on assault charges
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Local well-known attorney and animal rights activist Matthew Albert was arrested at his house late Thursday, accused of strangling his girlfriend.
    Early Friday, Albert posted $$5,000 bail on multiple charges — and is denying the allegations.
    But the allegations are serious, and Buffalo police said Albert hit and choked his girlfriend, pushed her into a wall, and that she fell down four flights of stairs  during the altercation, which happened at his house
