    ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) – Self-driving cars could be the way of the not-so-distant future in New York.
    Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that the state Department of Motor Vehicles will begin accepting applications from companies interested in testing or demonstrating autonomous vehicles on public roads.

    IRVING, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Sulphur Springs Road man was arrested by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the DEA on Wednesday on an outstanding Chautauqua County Court indictment warrant.

    NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – Niagara Falls Police are looking for help to identify four suspects involved in the theft of a purse and the use of stolen credit cards.
    According to police, the purse was stolen from the Sheraton Hotel on Third Street in Niagara Falls May 7. The victim’s stolen credit card was used the following day at the Hala-Lazeeza restaurant on First Street.

    WOODBURY, C.T. (AP) – Katherine Ann Berman, wife of longtime ESPN broadcaster Chris Bermna, died Tuesday afternoon in a traffic crash.
    Berman, 67, a teacher, was one of two victims in the two-vehicle crash. The other victim was identified as an 87-year-old Waterbury man.
    According to police reports, Berman who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at a hospital.
