    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit conducted two simultaneous drug raids in the the city of Buffalo and the town of Evans around 6:30 a.m. Monday.
    The unit raided an apartment at 320 Perry St. inside of the Commodore Perry Housing Development and an Erie Road residence in the town of Evans with assistance from the Evans Police Department.

    Trauma surgeon talks gun shot wounds, ear reattachment
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Sunday night a Buffalo Police officer was rushed to ECMC after being shot in the head during a traffic stop.
    Officer Joseph Acquino underwent surgery Monday morning and is listed in fair condition according to police. Acquino, who has been on the job since 2012, was shot in the ear area; his ear was saved by surgeons at ECMC.

    HOLLEY, N.Y. (WIVB) – Three people from Holley have been charged with child endangerment after Holley Police say they allowed several 13- and 14-year-old children to fight and supervised the fight.
    Tina M. Krueger, 36, David E. Brege, 30, and Launey M. Dambra, 35, all of Holley, were each charged with endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct following an investigation by the Holley Police Department and the Holley Central School District.

    Brian Gutekunst was interviewed by team officials on Monday. Gutekunst currently serves as Director of Player Personnel for the Green Bay Packers.
    The Bills say Gutekunst has “spent most of his NFL career” in the personnel department. From 2012 to 2015, he was the team’s Director of College Scouting, the team says.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Jury selection is underway in the case against Detavion Magee.
    Police say Magee, 21, was in a gun fight that led to the shooting of an 11-year-old boy.
    The shooting happened back in June on Humason Ave. in Buffalo. A stray bullet hit Juan Rodriguez in the head.
    In January, Magee pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge of first-degree assault. He is also facing weapons charges.

    SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. (AP) — The cause of U.S. Olympic bobsledder Steven Holcomb’s death will remain unclear until more tests are completed.
    An autopsy performed at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, New York, showed that the 37-year-old Holcomb died with fluid in his lungs, Essex County coroner Francis Whitelaw said Sunday. However, that alone was not enough to draw a conclusion as to why Holcomb died — and no determination will come until toxicology tests are completed.

    Scientists at Oregon State University accidentally discovered the brilliant blue hue when they were experimenting with materials that could be used in electronics.

    A sewer plant employee saw the person in the water and attempted rescuing them, according to police. The call came in around 3:45 a.m. Monday.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- A Buffalo Police Officer has been transported to ECMC after being shot early Sunday evening.
    Buffalo Police reported just before 6 p.m. that they were on scene of a shooting that involved an officer.
