    Buffalo State student stabbed in campus parking lot
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo State Police are investigating an assault that took place on campus early Sunday morning.
    Police say a male resident student reported that he was attacked from behind and stabbed in the back by an unknown weapon just before 3 a.m. in Lot R-14.
    The victim was treated and released from ECMC.
    Authorities believe the incident resulted from a fight that occurred earlier in the night at an off-campus party. They are investigating along with City of Buffalo Police

    Historic Colored Musicians Club celebrates major milestone
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Hundreds of people gathered at Hotel Lafayette Saturday night to celebrate 100 years of music. They marked the anniversary of Local 533 whose members eventually formed Buffalo’s historic Colored Musicians Club.
    The best of the best have performed at the club, including Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.

    Man seriously injured following shooting
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One person has serious injuries following a shooting on Buffalo’s east side.
    The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday on Dodge Street.
    On the scene — a News 4 photographer saw Buffalo Police and homicide detectives. Neighbors tell our photographer they heard more than a dozen shots fired.
    About half a dozen police vehicles responded and closed off the street.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Cheektowaga man has died following a shooting on Buffalo’s east side.
    The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Dodge Street.
    Neighbors told our News 4 photographer at the scene they heard more than a dozen shots fired.
    Police say the 44 year-old victim was shot while in a vehicle. He was declared deceased a short time later.

    Three adults and a baby hospitalized after Niagara County crash
    TOWN OF HARTLAND, N.Y. (WIVB)- Three adults and a baby were taken to the hospital after a head-on crash in Niagara County on Saturday.
    Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour told News 4 two vehicles collided in the Town of Hartland on Ridge Rd., between Orangeport Rd. and Hartland Rd. It happened around 6:45 p.m.
    One vehicle was carrying a one year old child, and the child’s mother and grandmother. Both adults were flown by Mercy Flight to ECMC with serious injuries.

    33 year-old Thomas Diehl lost a year-long battle to a rare form of leukemia earlier this week.

    CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A West Seneca family is on a mission to make sure every family in Western New York has a working carbon monoxide detector in their home.
    Ken Hansen helped had out 200 new detectors on Saturday.
    He has been doing this ever since his 16-year-old daughter Amanda Hansen died. She was at a friend’s house for a sleepover in 2009 when carbon monoxide filled the room — killing her.
