    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — As a result of the Climate Resilient Farming Grant Program, three farms in western New York will receive some support.
    On Thursday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the farms, which are located in Erie and Wyoming counties, would be receiving more than $179,000 in improvements.

    Ahmed Alshami, 37, operates IGA Community Express Mart at the corner of Ludington and Davey streets.

    WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon says U.S. forces in Afghanistan dropped the military’s largest non-nuclear bomb on an Islamic State target in Afghanistan.
    Adam Stump is a Pentagon spokesman. Stump says it was the first-ever combat use of the bomb, known as the GBU-43, which he said contains 11 tons of explosives. The Air Force calls it the Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb. Based on the acronym, it has been nicknamed the “Mother Of All Bombs.”

    ALBION, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Orleans County Sheriff is warning boaters to stay as far away from the Lake Ontario shoreline as possible.
    “We are concerned about shoreline erosion and submerged docks, as well as debris close to the shoreline,” Sheriff Randy Bower said.

    LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to criminally possessing a weapon he brought to a school in January.
    Devonte Ridgeway, 20, a student, brought a backpack containing a loaded handgun to Baker Hall School in Lackawanna. School staff found the gun tucked in a sneaker when a metal detector alarm was triggered.

    Man killed in apparent drive-by shooting in Buffalo
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 25-year-old man was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in Buffalo Wednesday night.
    Buffalo police say the shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. in the 100 block of Strauss St.
    The victim was pronounced dead when he was taken to ECMC. His name has not been released.
