    Town of Tonawanda officer passes away after fight with cancer
    TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Town of Tonawanda police officer has passed away following a battle with cancer.
    Lieutenant Thomas Diehl was on the force for 11 years. He was on leave since last April when he started fighting a rare form of leukemia.
    A funeral service is scheduled for this Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Amelia Roman Catholic Church at 2999 Eggert Rd. in Tonawanda.
    The service will be open to the public.

    ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB)- Kenneth Bingham was serving time at Wende Correctional for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property when he claims he was brutally beaten by a CO.
    “I believe this guy tried to kill me,” he said via Skype from Goshen, N.Y.
    The alleged incident, described in a civil complaint, occurred in August of 2016. Bingham is seeking a total of $5 million in damages.
    Bingham, who was paralyzed after being injured serving time at another facility in 2002, is in a wheelchair.
