    YORKSHIRE, N.Y. (WIVB)- More than 30 kittens have a second chance in Cattaraugus County, after being saved hours before they were set to be euthanized.
    A Place for Cats, the volunteer shelter in the Town of Yorkshire that took the cats in, welcomed 31 five-week-old kittens and three adults cats from a kill shelter in Louisiana over the weekend.
    In honor of their southern roots, the kittens have names like Cajun, Nola, Lala, and Shrimp.

    ALBANY, N.Y.  (WIVB) – The recent windstorm on March 8 and 9 wreaked havoc on thousands of NYSEG and Rochester Gas and Electric customers. More than 100,000 were left in the dark. The problems were made worse due to a severe drop in temperatures which followed the storm.

    The 3.5 mile race has been held in Buffalo every year since 1981.
    In 2016, 12,488 people from 383 companies ran in the event. More than 13,000 are expected this year.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police received a report of a man trying to get three teenage girls to enter his vehicle in the area of Martin Luther King Park.
    On Friday afternoon, the girls were approached by a heavy, black man with a medium complexion, police say.
    The girls told police that the man offered to give them money and buy them sneakers if they got into his vehicle. The vehicle was described as a light grey Chevrolet Impala.

    TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — After being stopped twice, a Genesee County man was arrested and charged with DWI early Sunday morning.

    GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WIVB) — The FBI says a South Carolina search related to the Brittanee Drexel case is over.
    Crews combed a wooded area in Georgetown County, which is just south of Myrtle Beach.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Fire investigators will be at work Monday morning trying to figure out what sparked a house fire that left a million dollars worth of damage in its wake.

    Some Niagara County residents say they’re sick from contamination from Love Canal waste disposed of at the Niagara Sanitation Landfill.
    The DEC finished remediation of the Love Canal waste at the landfill last year and plans to do more testing this spring.

    4-year-old boy hit by car in Buffalo
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo police said a child was seriously hurt in a crash Sunday afternoon.
    The 4-year-old boy was hit by a car on Grant Street, between Auburn and Lafayette, on Buffalo’s west side. It happened around 1:30 p.m.
    Police said the boy ran out from between parked cars and was hit by a vehicle heading north on Grant.
    He is in critical condition at Women and Children’s hospital.
    Police have not charged anyone yet for the crash.
