  NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVB)- Niagara County consolidated most of it’s emergency communication in 2012. The county now dispatches for ten police departments, two fire departments, and all volunteer fire services in the area.
  Sheriff James Voutour told News 4 the consolidation has generally been a good thing; it’s expanded municipalities access to one another and had made communication better, he said.

  No one was injured, sources say, when the truck stopped in the Town of Alexander.

  SINCLAIRVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Jacob Raynor, 34, an inmate who escaped the custody of the Chautauqua County Sheriff last week, has been captured.
  Raynor was being arraigned in Charlotte Town Court on a felony drug charge when he escaped custody on the morning of March 7.
  Handcuffed, Raynor ran, and a deputy followed him, but the authorities could not catch him.

  There’s a chance for a few very spotty rain showers this evening, but much of your Saturday night remains dry under mostly cloudy skies. A secondary disturbance develops and move over WNY for Mother’s Day Sunday.  While the day doesn’t look like a washout, this will bring a new batch of scattered, mostly light rain showers to the region. The better chance for steadier rain will come through the afternoon and will be more numerous the farther east of Buffalo.

  After a fairly quiet couple of days, the risk of raindrops increases tonight and into the weekend. Clouds thicken this evening with some spotty rain showers developing, especially by later at night.
