    More than 100 expected to be laid off due to closure of Quality Park facility
    ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — More than 100 employees will be affected by the closure of Quality Park envelope facility in Orchard Park.
    The reason for the closure is economic, according to a New York State WARN notice.

    TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Tonawanda woman was taken into custody after police say she backed into a parked ambulance that was on a first aid call.
    Early Friday morning, Tonawanda police say Tiffany Stein, 30, told them she was “drinking Coors light and had a shot at a bar on Sheridan Drive” before the crash.

    BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Batavia police are investigating remains found in a building that used to be a pet store.
    An employee with the building’s owner said they found animal remains while cleaning out the basement.
    The remains have been handed over to the SPCA. They are performing an exam to determine what type of animal died.

    This past June, Farmington resident Tyler Jennings, 34, and Rochester resident Chad Staley, 32, visited Letchworth State Park with five children. After they entered a restricted area of the park, the water right above the Lower Falls, all seven were swept away.

    Jake Klocek, 19, is charged with second-degree manslaughter and was arraigned Friday morning. He is also charged with acting recklessly around a gun.
    Police say Klocek accidentally shot Anthony King in the stomach in Elma this past November.
