  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Marotto’s restaurant on Delaware Avenue serves lunch and dinner 7 days a week, and depends on several minimum wage workers to serve customers.
  “Two years ago it was $7.50 an hour it went to $9 which is an unbelievable increase. And then two years ago also the waitresses salary went up 50%. I’ve got 7 waitresses we’ve got 7 dishwashers it’s just unbelievable,” said Mark Marotto, Marotto’s restaurant owner.

• Taxi company President responds to riders complaints of New Years Eve service

(WIVB) – Some Western New Yorkers are complaining about “taxi nightmares” on New Years Eve. Dozens of viewers wrote to News 4 saying they waited up to two hours for a ride home that night. But leaders with Liberty Cab, the biggest taxi company in the area, say the most recent proposal to bring ride sharing here falls short and needs to be regulated.

• Lockport man arrested for speeding and DWI

  ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police say a man was driving 109 mph when he was pulled over and arrested for DWI.
  Officers spotted 24-year-old Adam Lauer of Lockport travelling 109 mph in a 65 mph zone on the 219 Sunday. After failing several field sobriety tests, Lauer was found to have a .16% B.A.C.
  He was arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving and two counts of DWI.
  Lauer posted 200 dollars bail and is scheduled to appear in Orchard Park Town Court at a later date.

• Recovery effort resumes for missing plane in Cleveland

  CLEVELAND, O.H. (AP) — Authorities say recovery efforts are resuming in the search for a small plane carrying six people that disappeared over Lake Erie, near Cleveland.

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police are investigating a drowning that happened at the Hampton Inn on Delaware Avenue.
  Police say they were called to a hotel room inside the Hampton just before 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
  Police say the drowning victim is a woman in her 40’s. Police say the woman died in a hot tub and they are waiting for a toxicology report to come back.
