    Niagara Falls inks deal with Amtrak for new Transportation Center
    NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WIVB) – Mayor Paul Dyster announced that the City of Niagara Falls was able to come to terms with Amtrak on a lease deal for space at the new Niagara Falls Transportation Center.
    The new Falls station is the first new rail station to open in the state in more than a decade.
    As part of the agreement, Amtrak will be leasing 29,360 square feet, or 63% of the 46,430 square foot, two-story station within the Niagara Falls Intermodal Transportation Center.

    MEDINA, N.Y. (AP) — A former carnival worker has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a home invasion burglary that was blamed for the death of a comic book collector.
    Acting U.S. Attorney James Kennedy says 47-year-old Albert Parsons of Rochester was one of three people who burglarized the Medina home of 78-year-old Homer Marciniak.
    The victim was tied up and robbed of his comic book collection, along with cash and coins. He died of a heart attack a short time later.

    NEW YORK (AP) — California and Massachusetts voted to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, giving a huge boost to the campaign to allow pot nationwide. Seven more states also voted on marijuana measures, while others voted on gun control and capital punishment.
