    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Friday was the day the family of Cpl. Roy Fink never thought would come, the day the Buffalo native would finally be honored for this ultimate sacrifice, and officially laid to rest close to 66 years after his death.

    NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say a New York City police sergeant has been fatally shot and another has been wounded in an exchange of gunfire with a suspect in the Bronx.

    CLARENCE, NY  (WIVB)- WIVB has confirmed that former Clarence resident, Army Capt. Andrew D. Byers has been identified as one of two U.S. servicemen killed Thursday in northern Afghanistan.
    Byers was 30 years old and the son of former Clarence School Board president David R. Byers.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Firefighters had to secure a house that was hit by a car early Friday.
    Police were called to Heath Street, near Main Street and the University at Buffalo South Campus, shortly before 3:00 a.m.
    After the car hit the home, the driver ran, according to first responders at the scene.
