    DraftKings, FanDuel to pay combined $12 million in fines
    ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) — Fantasy sports companies have caused quite a bit of controversy in the state this past year. On Tuesday, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced a $12 million settlement with DraftKings and FanDuel.

    DEPEW, N.Y. (WIVB) — In Depew, voters will get to decide whether to keep or dissolve the village.
    Monday night, the Village board set a date of January 17 for a public referendum on dissolving the village government.
    Dissolution supporters say the cost of service is rising faster than the tax base.
    If the referendum passes, the village would have to work on a dissolution plan with the towns of Lancaster and Cheektowaga within the following six months.

    TORONTO (AP) — A nurse has been charged with the murders of eight elderly people at nursing homes in southwestern Ontario over a seven-year period, police said Tuesday.

    Fan dies after falling while leaving Broncos football game
    DENVER (AP) — Authorities say a fan has died after falling 30 to 50 feet at the Denver Broncos’ stadium after a game on Monday night.
    Stadium Management Co., which operates Sports Authority Field at Mile High, said the fan fell over a stairwell railing.
    The medical examiner’s office said Tuesday the man was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.
    His name has not been released and a Denver police spokesman did not immediately provide details about the investigation.

    SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal judge in San Francisco has approved a $15 billion court settlement of most claims against Volkswagen for its emissions-cheating scandal.
