    Toddler dies in Jamestown house fire
    JAMESTOWN (WIVB) – Fire officials in Jamestown are investigating an early morning fire that took the life of a toddler.
    Police tell News 4 the for broke out around 8:00 Saturday morning at a home on Prendergast Avenue.
    When crews arrived on the scene, heavy smoke and fire was pouring from the second story of a two-floor apartment house.
    Officials say two people were in front of the building and told them their child was trapped in the home.

    BUFFALO (WIVB) – Police in Buffalo are investigating an early morning shooting in the Kensington Bailey neighborhood.
    It happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, on the 300 block of Phyllis Avenue near Eggert Road.
    Police tell News 4, a Buffalo man in his late 20’s was shot.
    He was taken to ECMC where he’s listed in critical condition.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A local organization is helping less fortunate children celebrate their birthdays.
    Volunteers came together Saturday to create “Birthdays in a Box.”
    The boxes are delivered to children living in shelters or temporary housing – who may not be able to celebrate their special days.
    The boxes include birthday essentials – including cake mix, frosting, balloons and napkins.

    “Erin’s Crosswalk” unveiled four years after deadly accident
    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — A brand new crosswalk was unveiled at the corner of Maple and Culpepper Roads in Amherst Saturday.
    The crosswalk is in honor of 13-year-old Erin Suszynski who was killed four years ago trying to cross the busy street.
    Erin was crossing the street to get to a playground to see her friends when she was hit by a car and killed.
    It took four years to get what’s now being called, “Erin’s Crosswalk,” up and running.
