     COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A 6-year-old boy who was critically wounded in a school shooting died Saturday, days after a 14-year-old boy opened fire on a school playground, authorities said.
    Jacob Hall had been fighting for his life at a hospital after a bullet struck him in a main artery in his leg, causing him a major brain injury due to the loss of blood.     Buffalo police investigate fatal shooting on Sherman Street
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning.
    Ferry-Fillmore officers responded to the 200 block of Sherman Street around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival they found a 25 year-old Buffalo man shot multiple times and deceased at the scene.

    Six displaced by east side house fire
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A house fire under investigation on the city’s east side leaves six people without their home.
    Firefighters answered the call to Shepard Street around 2:00 a.m., where they found fire at the back of the house.The fire spread from the first floor to the second.
    None of the six people, five children and one adult, was home, but they were being offered assistance from the Red Cross.
    The cause of the fire is under investigation; damages are estimated at $60,000.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — When Ruth Murray was sent to Emerald South nursing home, it was assumed the 83-year-old would live out her days in peace.
    Instead, she met a violent end at the hands of another resident of the facility, a man her age with a history of aggression, who medical professionals said required 24-hour supervision.
