    CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) — A teenager from Lancaster has been charged after New York State Police say he robbed an elderly woman at the Eastern Hills Mall.
    According to authorities, a 17-year-old put on a mask and approached the woman in the mall’s parking lot. State Police say he then took the 75-year-old’s purse and merchandise before running off.

    OLEAN, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Olean man has been accused of stealing a dog from a local SPCA shelter.
    New York State Police arrested Stephen Schindlbeck, 31, on a charge of burglary after they say he took a dog, a leash, and dog food from a Route 16 shelter.
    The dog was later found in good health.
    Schindlbeck was committed to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail.

    ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) — A suspicious device found in a trash can near a train station exploded early Monday as a bomb squad was attempting to disarm it with a robot, officials said.
