    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) The Buffalo School District sent an alert Friday afternoon after a student was allegedly followed on the West Side.
    The student reported being followed by a male from Niagara and Virginia Streets to Maryland Street. The man is described as Latino, 5’5 or 5’7 with brown hair and a thin beard.

    Bills fire offensive coordinator Greg Roman two weeks into 2016 season
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The day after a 37-31 loss to the New York Jets dropped the Buffalo Bills to 0-2 to start the 2016 season, the team announced Friday it has fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman after just more than one season on the job.
    Roman’s replacement is Bills running backs coach Anthony Lynn, a longtime assistant under Rex Ryan. He has previously served as a running backs coach for four NFL teams, including the Jets. He joined the Bills in 2015.

    Accused drunk driver already had eight suspensions
    CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police say a driver they arrested for DWI early Friday had a lengthy driving record, including eight suspensions on his license since February 2014.
    Officers charged Markeith Adams, 40, with DWI, driving over a .08, aggravated unlicensed operation, no driver’s license and speeding. Officers pulled him over on Twin City Highway. Police say Adams was traveling 59 in a 45 m.p.h. speed zone. When they checked his license, they found the prior suspensions.

    CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police say a man was stealing toy drones from the place where he worked to support his drug habit. Officers have charged Justin Stevens, 40, with three counts of petit larceny.
    Captain Fredric Foels says detectives believe the thefts happened six times during July and August. Stevens worked for a pool distribution company in Tonawanda as a warehouse employee, according to police.

    ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The days of 7-digit dialing are coming to an end in eastern New York’s 518 area code region.
    The state Public Service Commission has approved an area code “overlay” in the 17-county 518 region to meet demand for new phone numbers. That means existing numbers will keep the 518 area code and new ones will get a new area code.

    LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police have closed Ridge Road from Rosary Avenue to South Shore Boulevard as they investigate an early morning accident.
