    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A community came together Saturday night to remember those that have been lost to opioid addiction.
    A candlelight memorial was held at Canalside. Two-hundred and fifty-six candles were lit to represent 256 lives lost in 2015 to a drug overdose.
    “In 2011 until August 1 of this year, nearly 1,000 people have died of drug overdoses. We’re anticipating about 400 deaths this year in Erie County,” said Dan Rinaldo, Drug Intelligence Officer.

    Runners and walkers remembered military members from New York State killed in action since September 11, 2011.

    Crews respond to two-alarm fire on Main Street
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Multiple fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire at 3043 Main Street around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
    Fire officials say the fire started on the roof of an apartment above Famous Doughnuts. Patch work was being done on the roof when the fire sparked.
    Officials say the fire was contained to the two upstairs apartments.
    Two adults in one of the apartments got out safely and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The other apartment was empty.
